The response we feel when things that are happening exceed our ability to cope.

Stress triggers the 'fight or flight' response where the body releases adrenalin and other hormones to respond to a perceived danger.  These hormones increase heart rate and blood pressure, change breathing rate and  cause muscle tension.

If stress is left untreated it can cause many physical and emotional problems such as: digestion problems, headaches, migraines, heart disease, anger, irritability,  mood swings, depression, panic attacks and anxiety.

It is important to recognise stress and learn techniques that can help you to manage the causes and effects. It is also important to recognise that stress is not a sign of weakness but simply reflects overload of pressure at any given time and addressing this issue is a sign of strength which can improve your future health.
